CHANDIGARH – MANALI 6 hrs
Pick up at Chandigarh. Drive to manali enroute visit the temple at Kulu and later Hadhimba temple in Manali.overnight hotel.
MANALI – SERCHU 9-10 hrs
After early breakfast leave for Serchu which is 220 km. Crossing Rothang pass 13050 ft drive down to keylong (the headquarter of lahaul) and further drive up to Baralacha pass. Its a beautiful drive as greenery vanishes and dramatic high altitude barren landscape starts. Enjoy the dramatic view of the mountains. On reaching serchu o/n camp.
SERCHU – LEH 10 hrs
Morning after the breakfast leave for Leh passing through the zig-zag road up till skyangchu thang(biggest and highest plateau on earth stretching 42kms) skyang means “wild ass”. The wild ass are very shy and former times one can see lots of wild ass in this area but now due to the traffic and noise pollution people very rarely see them. drive along the plain landscape up to Taglangla pass 17585 ft the second highest pass. Drive down to Leh passing through the different villages of Rumtse, gya and Miru villages till Kharu at the Indus river. Stop for the check point. o/n hotel in Leh.
LEH
After breakfast drive to Alchi enroute visit gurdwara pather sahib, magnetic hill, sangam (confluence of river Indus and Zangskar river).evening visit the famous monastery of Alchi which is more than 1000 year old. Drive back to leh. o/n hotel.
LEH – NUBRA VALLEY 5 hrs
Morning drive to Nubra valley crossing Khardongla pass 18,380 ft (highest motorable road in the world) beautiful view from the pass then drive down to Hunder. Overnight Royal Camp (setup in the nature with the clear river flowing in between. Evening enjoy the camel ride. Evening enjoy camp fire. Overnight royal camp.
NUBRA – LEH 5 hrs
After breakfast retrace the route back to Leh , enroute visit huge statue of maitriya (future Buddha) at Diskit. Overnight hotel.
LEH – PANGONG LAKE 5 HRS (one way)
After early breakfast drive to pangong lake (14000ft) over changla pass. It is the highest brackish lake in the world. The lake is 160 km long and 8 km wide and 75% 0f the lake is in china and 25% is in India.This long and barrow expanse of deep blue water is flanked on the north by the Changchenmo range and the Pangong Mountains , and offshoot of the Ladakh range bound its southern edge.. There is no marine life; however, one can see migratory birds like Gulls, Brahmini ducks and the occasional mallard breeding at the small junctions of inlet streams. The edges of the lake are white with the residue of the dried up salt, which looks like snow from a distance.one can enjoy the beautiful colour changing of the lake.Retrace the route back to leh. Overnight hotel. Overnight camp.
PANGONG LAKE – LEH 5 hrs
Morning enjoy the beautiful sunrise near the lake. Then retrace the route back to leh, enroute visit Shey and Thiksay monastery. Shey Palace Monastery has the largest statue of Maitreya Buddha (Buddha to come) in Ladakh, standing at 17.5 metres height. Erected in the mid 17th century, it is created of gold and gilded copper sheets. Thiksey Gompa:About 20 Km from Leh, Thiksey is an imposing monastery and one of the finest example of Ladakhi architecture. The 12 storey monastery complex contains numerous stupas, statues, thankas, wall paintings, swords and a large pillar engraved with the Buddha's teachings. The main prayer hall has a 15 m high seated Buddha figure.Also visit Sindhu ghat. Overnight hotel.
Day 09 : LEH – DELHI
Early morning transfer to the airport for the onward flight to Delhi WITH A SWEET MEMORIES.
